Lef Nosi, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Independence, to prevent any falsification or manipulation of the Independence document, photographed it and printed hundreds of copies, distributing them first to the families of the signatories. These are the signatories of the Independence Act.

The following signatories of the Declaration of Independence were shot or died in prison by the communist regime:

1-Lef Nosi, was shot on 14.2.1946 in Tirana.
2-Shefqet Daiu, was convicted and died in prison in 1946 in Elbasan.
3-Bedri Pejani, died in pre-trial detention, sentenced to death, in Prizren on 6.7.1946.
4-Qazim Kokoshi, died in 1947 in the interrogation room, in Vlora.

Eight of them, fled communism and died in exile.
