On June 13, 1999, Prizren breathed differently. On the first day of the entry of German KFOR troops, a clash erupted in the heart of the city that would mark the end of Serbian terror.
The two notorious paramilitaries, Slavko and Zharko, accustomed to patrolling the streets killing, torturing and mocking a defenseless people, were neutralized within seconds, under a hail of 220 bullets.
This was the first combat action of the German army after World War II, an intervention that brought immediate justice and gave the signal to the Albanian people that the darkness was ending.
