When Montenegrin tribes used Albanian Kanun law for selling houses in the 14th and 18th century

For centuries, Montenegrin tribes, many of them Slavicized (Serbified) still used Albanian Kanun Law, as can be seen in this passage by G. Valentini n his “La famiglia nel diritto tradizionale albanese”.

Translation:

“In a contract for the sale of a vineyard in Dranik from 1359, it is mentioned that one party waives his right of pre-emption. In another, much later contract from 1785 in Mratinje, 27 witnesses confirm under oath that a certain seller did not deny the right of the agnatic family to buy the house, since this family wished to buy it, completely in accordance with Albanian customary law.
