This document by Todor P. Stankovic states that Serbs worked the land for Albanians. In Prehevo in ​​1871, about 600 houses are mentioned, of which 570 are Albanian (“Арнауташа”) and about 30 Serb. Serbs are described there as serving the wealthier Albanians as “čivčije” (dependent peasants) and servants, cultivating their land for a certain salary or a small share of the harvest, and in this locality they are called “сиротиња” (poor).
