On the night between 3 and 4 February 2000 in the north of Mitrovica, the so-called ‘Bridge Guards’, under the protection of France’s KFOR, killed 10 Albanians, among whom were children, women and the elderly, injured 25 others, while expelling about 12 000 Albanian residents, who were forced to cross to the south of the city, leaving behind their homes and apartments in flames.
Later, the Chetniks of the “BriIdge guards” for these crimes against the Albanian population were rewarded by the OSCE with Kosovo Police Uniforms and Weapons, instead of being imprisoned and brought before the Court for their crimes.

Today marks 25 years since the massacre on the night of February 3-4 in northern Mitrovica.
The ‘Bridge Guards’ killed ten Albanians, including children, women and the elderly.
Many others were also injured, while around 12,000 Albanians were expelled, who were forced to cross to the south of the city, leaving their homes in flames behind.
On the night of February 3-4, Nezir e Shqipe Voca, Niman Sejdiu, Bashkim Rrukeci, Sebiha Abrashi, Selime Berisha, Muharrem Sokoli, Nderim Ajeti, Nerimane Xhaka and Remzije Canhasi were killed.
According to witnesses, the killing operation was led by the Serbian MUP, headed by former commander Dragan Delibashiq, Oliver Ivanovic and others.
The Basic Court in Mitrovica in 2014 found Ivanovic guilty of war crimes against Albanians during and after the war in Kosovo.

“In the northern part of the city of Mitrovica, now inhabited by a Serb majority, 23 years ago, on the night between 3 and 4 February 2000, 10 ethnic Albanians were killed and 25 others were injured by members of the “Bridge Guards”.
On this night, known as the “Night of Terror”, men and women, including children and the elderly from 13 to 65 years old, were killed and massacred. And within that month, over 1,560 families with more than 11,300 members were forcibly expelled from their homes in the north.
After this tragic event, we recall the Council for the Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms (KMDLNj) who had said that all these killings were committed in the presence of French KFOR soldiers and international police.
On the night between 3 and 4 February 2000, Nezir e Shqipe Voca, Niman Sejdiu, Bashkim Rrukeci, Sebiha Abrashi, Selime Berisha, Muharrem Sokoli, Nderim Ajeti, Nerimane Xhaka and Remzije Canhasi were killed.
According to witnesses, the killing operation was led by the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs, headed by the former commander, Dragan Delibašić and the now deceased Serbian politician Oliver Ivanović.
The perpetrators of this monstrous crime were also Milodrag Ralic, Pagi Jovic, Zoran Dedic, Rela Martinovic, Zoran Kostic, Sasha Savic, Ivan Mandic, Dragan Šilković, Dulko Šilković and others.
Meanwhile, according to Halit Berani from the KMLDHN in Mitrovica, dozens of criminals who had arrived in three buses from Serbia on 2 February, the day before the massacre, were involved in the crime.
The residents of Mitrovica still have fresh memories of those days, when they were driven out under the bullets of Serbs and the tear gas of KFOR, who were trying to neutralize the situation and at the same time help with the “safe” evacuation of women and children.”
