by Hasan. S. Zeneli. Translation Petrit Latifi
Sherif was a comrade-in-arms of Musli Podvorica, Azem Bellaqevci and Ajet Gërguri. In January 1947, in the village of Prapashtica in Gollaku, Musliu and Azem were killed in a duel, while Sherif was captured by the Serbian Gendarmerie and imprisoned in the Prishtina district prison. The district prosecutor was Ali Shukria.
Sherif was sentenced to 16 years in prison and transferred to the Niš prison to serve his sentence. After the fall of the then regime, Sherif and hundreds of other prisoners were amnestied and continued to be treated as dangerous people of that time.
The Zeneli family was banned from appearing in public, attending weddings or parties, and was denied the right to vote until 1971.
May the land of this country, for which you did not even spare your life, rest easy for you. Glory to your heroism, my grandfather Sherif Zeneli.
