The Serbian Yugoslav arrest of Albanian hero Ali Fazliu Prekazi (1900-1947)

The Albanian hero Ali Fazliu Prekazi (1900-1947)

In 1947, the Serbo-Yugoslav regime arrested 25 members of the family of the brave leader and patriot, Ali Fazliu Prekazi, who were held in the Mitrovica prison for 9 months, only to force Ali to surrender, who was initially sentenced to death. Ali Fazliu Prekazi, had killed dozens of Serbian Chetniks in Sandzak, Berane, Kolasin and Podgorica.

Ali Fazlia, known in the wars of Sandzak and Kolashin, in Montenegro, as “Prekazi”, from Prekazi, lived from 1900-1978. Since the age of 15, he carried arms and initially joined Azem Bejta, and later Shaban Palluzhë, Xhafer Deva and Mehmet Gradica.

He fought where his homeland called him, defending the Albanian lands. He spent a life with a rifle on his shoulder, being killed with a chetnik. Together with other brave men, fighting, he went as far as Sandzak, Kaquberr, Kollashin, Bjellopolje and Podgorica in Montenegro.

His fight was for the liberation and unification of the Albanian lands. In 1947, the then Serb-Slavic regime arrested 27 members of the family, including women, elderly people and children, and sent them, first to the Skenderaj prison and then to the Mitrovica prison, holding them for 9 months until Aliu surrendered, who was sentenced to be shot.

However, after the threat made by Bajrami, Aliu’s brother, and his friends, the Prosecutor, entering his house at night, pardoned him from the death sentence, but instead sentenced him to 100 years. Ali Fazliu, known as Ali Prekazi, is an Albanian boy who did the most for his homeland among the other brave men.

In the last war, his son Shaqa also fell martyrs fighting, who later died of his wounds, while Shaqa’s son, Aliu’s nephew, Muhamet was caught in an ambush set by the Serbs and executed, and their bodies have been lost.

Today, the names of Ali and Muhamet are inherited, proudly carried by the sons of Rizah, the great-grandsons of Ali and the grandsons of Muhamet, martyrs. Therefore, at the “National Assembly of the Alps” the “Ali Ibër Nezaj” Award will be presented to the great-grandson of Ali, the grandson of Muhamet and the son of Rizah, Muhamet Fazli.
