An 11-year old Albanian child flees the Serbian artillery shelling in Junik in August 1998

In August 1998, after some fierce fighting, the city of Junik fell to the Serbs. The inhabitants fled towards Tropoja, where Serbian Chetnik forces bombed the mountain all night. Many families were separated there, including this 11-year-old child who had not let go of his 3-year-old younger brother for 30 hours, until they reached the village of Padesh in Tropoja. The children were reunited with their parents in Tropoja.
