Some articles of the Association’s Regulations
Article 1.
A League under the name “Albanian Brothers” is established in Greece and temporarily has its headquarters in Athens.
Article 2.
The League considers as brothers all people who are inspired by the pure and noble feelings of natural brotherhood, and especially those who aim at the improvement and progress of Albania.
Article 3.
The “Albanian Brothers” League aims at the development and cultivation of the Albanian language and, in general, the moral and spiritual formation of the Albanian people, without distinction of race, religion or belief.
It categorically rejects and opposes anything that others, otherwise, might try to add to the aforementioned goal.
Article 4.
The members of the League, who should also be called “Brothers”, are composed of all Albanian classes, without any distinction of race, religion or belief, but who should nevertheless all be permeated by the same feelings and contribute to the same goal, namely the moral upliftment of Albania.
Article 8.
Honorary members become prominent Albanologists and friends of Albanians, as well as those who have significantly helped the League, among whom there may also be women.
Article 26.
In the auditorium of the League, various original works or translations into Albanian, poetry, studies on various topics related to Albanian literature, linguistics, grammar, dialectology, the state, history and, in general, anything that contributes to the moral and spiritual formation of the Albanian people, may be read, by certain members with the approval of the Presidency; these readings will be published in the newspaper issued by it.
Article 28.
The candidates must be of good character, that is, prudent, loyal, hardworking, regardless of profession, persistent, obedient in everything to the principles of the League and, above all, burning with pure feelings for their homeland, Albania. Troublemakers, disobedient people and those who violate the provisions of this article, after the third and fourth consultation, are excluded with the approval of the League.
Article 29.
The founders will take due care of the publication of an Albanian-Greek newspaper, so that the purpose and principles of the League can progress more easily, expand and consolidate more steadily.
Final and general article.
It is requested of every Albanian, and especially every member of the League “Albanian Brothers”, to collect and save from destruction everything related to Albanian linguistics, literature and history, by compiling dictionaries or glossaries of the different Albanian dialects in use in different Albanian countries, annotating them properly; Albanian documents written in different alphabets or translated from other languages; Albanian historical events, folk songs, phraseology, fairy tales, proverbs; in a word, everything related to the Albanian language and nationality, and to send them to the Presidency of the League “Albanian Brothers”, to be published as appropriate through the Albanian-Greek newspaper.
This regulation may be amended according to the decisions of the League from time to time.
