The three brothers of Skanderbeg who were poisoned in Edtine by the Turkish Government in 1443

by Preveza Abrashi.

This article discusses an engraving depicting the three brothers of Skanderbeg who were poisoned in the palace of Sultan Murat. The portraits were copied from engravings of the time and were brought to Albania in the 30s of the last century by Dr. Ibrahim Temo.

On the back it states “The three brothers of Skanderbeg who were poisoned in Edtine by the Turkish Government in 1443, the so-called Reposhi (Mehmet Bey), Stonja (Selim Bey) and Konstantini (Rrustem Bey) Kastrioti.

On the back it says that they were copied from the imperial album Yeldez Qoshk. There is also a copy of an engraving with a medieval image which shows what Gjon Kastrioti looks like, accompanied by his wife, handing over their four sons to stay in Edirne. In the corner of the engraving, soldiers in uniform and the majestic castle with the double-headed eagle are seen.
