There is a persistent and dangerous thread running through certain elements of Serbian nationalist rhetoric: an obsession with ethnic purity, a fetishization of violence, and a shameless disregard for human life. This is not patriotism; it is insanity cloaked in flags and historical revisionism.
Those who threaten Albanians in Kosovo, glorify militarized conquest, or romanticize the displacement and death of entire communities are trading in the same logic that, in the 1990s, produced the massacres, mass graves, and the deaths of over 140,000 men, women, and children across Croatia, Bosnia, and Kosovo.
To embrace such rhetoric today is to celebrate murder and terror. It is a willful addiction to fear, intimidation, and ethnic domination. Every post, meme, or threat issued in the name of “Serbia” is a reminder that chauvinism left unchecked is lethal. The fantasy of restoring borders, of cleansing territories, of intimidating minorities—is not harmless daydreaming. It is the ideological continuation of genocide.
This is the core of the insanity: to claim moral or historical justification for threats of death while ignoring the moral weight of the past. To these chauvinists, history is a weapon to frighten, not a lesson to learn. They are not defenders of the nation; they are disciples of destruction.
The international community, the victims, and indeed the conscience of humanity must call this out for what it is: madness dressed as nationalism, death-worship disguised as patriotism. And make no mistake—this insanity has consequences. The ghosts of history do not forgive, and neither should those who traffic in ethnic hatred today.
