Two illyrian snakes carved onto stones in Fericeve of Dardane Municpality

by Dr. Qazim Namani.

In the stream of the village of Fericeve (Firiqeve) in the Dardane municipality, about 10 m from the foundations of the church, on a natural rock on the edge of the stream, we came across two snakes carved in stone walking side by side, while behind these two snakes was the carved head of another snake.

The rest of the rock was covered with various herbs and bushes. We visited the locality and the church in those years in the company of Hetem Kosumi, former director of the Cultural Heritage Center in Gjilan.
