A document of the Venetian Senate, dated January 27, 1438, mentions Tanush Dukagjini and his nephew, Lekë Zaharia, who resided in the castle of Danja near Shkodra.

The document indicates that, due to the influence of the Dukagjinis in Albania, Venice granted Lekë Zaharia a pension and a residence in Padua, keeping him under political control.
