Greek Extremism in the So-Called "Northern Epirus" (There Is No Such Thing)

Greek Extremism in the So-Called “Northern Epirus” (South Albania)

The term “Northern Epirus” is a fictional creation used by Greek extremists to justify irredentist claims on South Albania. This is historically and geographically Albanian territory — pure South Albania — and there is no legitimate “Northern Epirus” question.

There is no real Greek minority in Albania. What exists is a small group of people, many of whom are used as tools for Greek nationalist propaganda. Just look at the images of these extremists waving Greek flags in Albanian cities like Himara, Gjirokaster, and Saranda. Zoom in on their faces. These are not Europeans — they are clearly of different origin, often described by locals as gypsies who have been politically weaponized by Athens.

The Greek state pours billions of euros into this artificial cause while denying basic support to its own suffering citizens inside Greece. Pensions, salaries, schools, churches, media campaigns, and political lobbying are all financed by Greece to keep tensions alive in South Albania. This money is used to fund provocations, separatism, and anti-Albanian activities rather than helping poor Greeks in Athens or Thessaloniki.

Greek extremists, supported by official circles in Athens, continue to dream of annexing Albanian land. They create fake “minority” organizations, spread lies internationally, and provoke incidents to internationalize a non-existent issue. Their goal has always been the same: to destabilize Albania and grab territory, just as they tried in 1913 and during other historical moments.

Albania has shown great patience and generosity by allowing these people to live peacefully within its borders. In return, it faces constant interference, flag provocations, and external pressure through the EU accession process.

The truth is simple:

There is no “Northern Epirus”.

This is South Albania.

The exaggerated “Greek minority” is a myth used to cover expansionist ambitions.

Albania must defend its territorial integrity and sovereignty with full determination against Greek extremism and these imported conflicts. Enough is enough.
