When Serbian Colonel Djordje Ostojić (Ostoich or Ostoic) yelled “Kill” to his troops in Prizren who then rushed into houses and killed Albanian civilians

This article discusses the atrocities and war crimes of “Colonel Ostoïtch”. Colonel (pukovnik) Djordje Ostojić (Serbian spelling: Đorđe Ostojić) was the court marshal (maršal dvora) of the Serbian King Peter I and Crown Prince Alexander. Various newspapers in 1912 wrote of Ostojić war crimes against Albanian civilians.

Based on Serbian military rolls and court records, Colonel Djordje Ostojić (Đorđe Ostojić) was born around 1860–1865 and likely died during or shortly after World War I (around 1914–1920).

Even Serbian newspaper wrote of the atrocities.

“Even the newspapers published in Belgrade report on the atrocities committed by the Serbs. They recount that when Colonel Ostoitch entered Prizrend (Prizren) , he shouted: “Kill!” and that, no sooner had this order been given than his soldiers rushed into the houses and killed everything they could get their hands on.”
