On May 23, 1921, the prestigious American magazine “Current History” published an article written by Abdul Sula, which revealed to the world the massacres and displacement of Albanians from Kosovo and Dibra from Serbia.
The article revealed that the Serbs had crossed the Albanian borders near Dibra and had devastated 142 Albanian villages, massacring the population, women, children and the elderly. Those who were unable to flee. This was also confirmed by the Serbian press of the time.
The author wrote: “Dissatisfied with Kosovo, Dibra and other territories, the Serbs are coveting even more Albanian territory by destroying the most prosperous localities and deporting or exterminating the Albanian population.”
Today marks 105 years since this article. The world knew but remained silent.
