18th century Albanian warrior Kuk Lula from the Kelmendi tribe

Kuk Lula was an 18th Albanian century hero who fought the Ottomans. He came from the Kelmendi tribe. The Shkodra authorities killed him and took his head to Istanbul as a trophy. His body was buried in the village of Vuthaj near Gucia, where his great-grandfather and his brother (Nrel Bala and Gjon Bala) were from Kelmend.

They fled from revenge after fighting the Ottomans in Kelmend (apparently the village of Vukli). The descendants inherited the Kukaj ( Kuka ) from him. The Turks called him Kurt (wolf – Turkish language) because of his courage.
