Mr. President of the European Council ays that “we have all had problems with our neighbors”. So according to his logic, the Banjska terrorist attack organized by Serbia is merely a “problem between neighbors” that should be left behind!! So the life of Kosovo Police Sergeant Afrim Bunjaku is not important enough. Apparently, it does not matter that Kosovo faced a heavily armed terrorist attack that threatened the country’s peace, security, and sovereignty!
Does this mean it is normal for a neighboring state to organize or support a terrorist attack against another country and then simply move on as if nothing happened? Let me ask you portray you a similar situation….for example: If Spain were to send a terrorist group into Portugal, kill a police officer and attempt to destabilize the country, would Portugal be told not to seek justice and simply “focus on the future”? I’m sure a war would start immediately between them. No future without justice.
No reconciliation when those responsible are not held accountable. And If Kosovo had sent an armed group into Serbia, killed a Serbian police officer, and carried out an attack on Serbian territory, would the message still be to “focus on the future”? Or does this principle apply only when Kosovo is the victim? No country should be expected to ignore an attack on its sovereignty for the sake of political convenience.
Your main focus should be on pressuring Serbia to hand over Milan Radoicic to Kosovo’s authorities. There can be no meaningful dialogue, reconciliation, or trust while the chief organizer of the Banjska terrorist attack remains free and protected by Serbia.
