“The Epirotes were never called Greeks. We are talking about antiquity. The Hellenes considered them barbarians. The border between the barbarians and the Hellenes of that time was Thesprotia, today’s Chameria, and in all cases the culture of the time of the ethnicity was identical to the Illyrians. Even during antiquity, the main connections are with Illyria and not with Greece. We can say that from all points of view the Epirotes were not Hellenes.”
