“Foot-and-mouth disease in Serbia. From Best 5 November, it is reported that it has been repeatedly noted in recent reports that the livestock exported from Serbia is now to be inspected by experts to determine if it is suffering from foot-and-mouth disease. Suspicious animals were found in a shipment that arrived here on Sunday, and the same was true yesterday.
As a result of these cases, as the local butchers’ newspaper reports, a Council of Ministers meeting is taking place in Belgrade. It is likely that the entire Serbian livestock population will have to be examined. If no disease-free districts are found, the import of Serbian livestock into Hungary may be completely prohibited by the Serbian side.”
