How Montenegro Invaded The Albanian City Of Ulqin – A Region Where Olives Grow With A 13 Km Beach

Through the Land Where Olives Grow. In Port Milena near Ulqin there is an untouched and unique 13-kilometer beach

Ulqin, September. — After the great world war and in the years following the liberation of Ulqin, only a few knew about the miraculous beauty of this place. And those who did know kept it as a secret. The old, winding road that once connected the city with the fertile Primorje region is now being replaced by a new, wide tourist road that will open up the entire area, making it as accessible and interesting as the famous Primorje.

The beauty of this coast, with its olive groves and historic monuments, has long attracted travelers and tourists, who are now beginning to discover it.

Just a few years ago, only a handful of our coastal residents knew about the last untouched corner of our coast. Today, this beach is becoming increasingly famous, and more and more people are coming to see it.

On the Ulqin beach

The vast sandy shore, bathed in sunshine and washed by the clear sea, offers an unparalleled bathing experience. It is so vast that it can accommodate thousands of bathers without ever feeling crowded. The sea here is exceptionally clear and warm, making it ideal for swimming.

The local people are friendly and hospitable. They take great pride in their beautiful beach and do everything they can to make visitors feel welcome.

A new hotel has been built right on the beach, and more tourist facilities are planned. The beach stretches for a full 13 kilometers — completely untouched and unique in its natural beauty.

Ulqin’s “Boljak”

The Ulqin “boljak” (a type of local boat) is a charming sight on the beach. It is a combination of a fishing boat and a pleasure craft. It has a distinctive shape and is very practical. It can be used both for fishing and for taking tourists on short trips along the coast.

The people of Ulqin are very proud of their long beach and want to develop it properly for tourism while preserving its natural character. They emphasize that this 13-kilometer stretch of sand is one of the most beautiful and longest beaches on the Adriatic.
