Documented Accounts of Regular Serbian Soldiers Murdering Albanian Civilians In 1912 and 1913

Information extracted from Austrian state archives.

“In any case, it can be seen from the railway that the Serbian, or rather, written villages are untouched, while the Turkish, i.e., Albanian, and all Bosniak villages have been burned to the ground. The Serbian soldiers had ravaged the Albanian border regions, scorching, burning, and murdering; terrible atrocities had been committed against the Albanians by regular Serbian soldiers. The captain, who also participated in the battle, tells the details to his prisoners.”

“January 17, L.J, concerning terrible atrocities committed by Serbian bandits and regular troops in Albania, about which the aforementioned paper was informed by a person whose name and prominent position undoubtedly provide a sure guarantee for the truth of what has been described.

Countless inhumanities committed against the Albanians. For days I witnessed the hunts for Albanians, carried out by Serbian-armed bandits and also regular troops; for three nights I saw the flames of burning villages redden the sky; five villages nearby now lie in ruins after this period of destruction”.
