“Kuči (pronounced Kutschi), an ethnic group of 15,000 people in southeastern Montenegro, inhabiting an area of about 500 square kilometers, one of the wildest and most mountainous parts of the country. The Kuči belong to the Albanian ethnic group, are partly Serbianized, but profess the Catholic faith. The northern half was incorporated into Montenegro as early as 1849, the southern half only in 1877, and finally on April 12, 1880. [Hahns (f. d.).”
