“Sofia, January 1st. The commander of the Bulgarian troops in Viddin has officially reported that the Serbs, upon leaving the Viddin district, completely destroyed it. Not only did the troops plunder the inhabitants, but the Serbian military authorities also requisitioned 4 oxen, 50 sheep, 3000 bushels of corn, and 2000 bushels of wheat from every village.”
