Serbian academic Tomislav Perušić in an interview for “ABC news” tells us about his love for Albanian and Albanians

Serb Tomislav Perušić in an interview for “ABC news” tells us about his love for Albanian and Albanians. The excellent student of the Albanology Department in Belgrade, even though he is sought after by several Balkan and European departments, has chosen Albania for his postgraduate studies. Meanwhile, researcher Shaban Sinani confidently says that he will be a future Milan Shuflaj in the field of Albanology.

Tomoslav Perušić is undoubtedly one of the Serbs who loves Albania and the Albanian language. He keeps the Albanian eagle and flag on many personal belongings. The Serb-Croatian is only 24 years old and speaks 7 foreign languages. His first contact with Albanian was 5 years ago in America, and he is so curious that he chose it as a field of study at the University of Belgrade.

This also serves to find his Albanian roots on his mother’s side. He is an excellent student and is happy that Albanologist Shaban Sinani has described him as the future Milan Shuflaj. Tomislav Perušić is one of 10 students in the Department of Albanology at the Belgrade Department. He says that interest in this field of research has declined significantly in recent years.

He has made a choice about where he will continue his postgraduate studies, although there are applications for him in several Albanological departments in the Balkans and Europe. Professor Shaban Sinani says that this is the right person to launch the Robert Elsie Scholarship. Timoslav Perušić has been visiting Albania and Kosovo frequently in recent years to improve his language skills in dialects and to get acquainted with the customs and history of Albanians.
