Who Ordered The Sonic Weapon Attack In Serbia Against Protestors In Belgrad?

On 15 March 2025, during a mass protest in Belgrade, there were credible allegations that a sonic weapon or similar acoustic device was used against demonstrators, causing shock, panic, nausea and other symptoms.

It was an appalling incident, yet those responsible have still not been identified or held accountable. Military analyst Aleksandar Radić has now been prosecuted, under the pretext of preparing acts against Serbia’s constitutional order, because of his investigation into the alleged use of this weapon.

Prosecutors also published his private conversations with journalists and revealed their identities, seriously undermining press freedom and the protection of journalistic sources. Serbia must allow an independent international investigation into what happened on 15 March. Lawful investigation and the search for truth are not crimes.

The real scandal is the failure to establish who authorised and deployed the device against peaceful citizens. Instead of ensuring accountability, Vucic’s government is turning Serbia’s institutions into instruments of intimidation, targeting those who seek the truth while protecting those responsible.
