The seizure of 770 kg of “very clean” cocaine in Italy with the packages marked with the Serbian flag, defines the need for a stronger crackdown on transnational organized crime operating across Serbia.

Serbia has been linked in numerous international investigations to powerful organized crime networks involved in drug trafficking and human trafficking. Instead of focusing solely on issues such as the demolition of illegal structures/property’s in north of Kosovo, EU should also increase pressure for decisive action against organized crime and high-level corruption across the region of Serbia.
