Serbian sadism: How Serbs tortured 26-year old Agim Miftari simply for being Albanian

The world must never forget the crimes committed against Albanians in Kosovo.

Tonight, I want to share the story of Agim Miftari, a 26-year-old from the Gjakova region who was travelling from Switzerland to visit his parents. According to his testimony, he was stopped near Bërnicë by Serbian forces, despite having no involvement with the KLA or any military activity.

Agim said he was brutally tortured, his legs were broken with metal bars, and after his attackers noticed a tattoo of the Albanian double-headed eagle with the map of Kosovo on his arm, the abuse became even more severe. He was beaten unconscious, dragged through the streets, and, believing he was dead, his attackers allegedly threw his body across the border into a rocky area.

He was later found by local residents from Kukës, received medical care from Dr Shaqir Shehu at Kukës Hospital, and was subsequently transferred to Tirana for further treatment.

Agim said he would never forget the torture he endured for the rest of his life.
