“Among the Serbs of Upper Morava and Izmornik, traditional dress underwent a greater Albanian influence than the language did. However, this influence can be felt only in men’s clothing, while women’s clothing remained untouched.

Before the Liberation, the Serbs of Upper Morava, both of the Orthodox and Catholic faiths, dressed almost exactly like the Albanians. On their heads they wore a plis or keçe; on the upper part of the body they wore the Albanian ljurka, which never overlaps across the chest and whose sleeves reach only to the elbows.

Hanging down its back was a kašureč, which served to protect the head from rain. Their čakšire were of the same cut as those worn by the Albanians.”
