“Vidin, Sept. 9. The day before yesterday, nine Serbian battalions, supported by a battery and two columns, attacked Osman Pasha’s outposts near Zmejdan and Nikoličevo. After seven hours of fighting, the Serbs were repulsed by Assaf Pasha and Hassan Pasha, who were leading seven battalions. Numerous rifles, greatcoats, and Russian revolvers fell into Turkish hands.”
