Vojvoda Anto Daković (1823–1889) of Grahovo was an Albanian from the Kuci tribe

According to the “Indogermanisches Jahrbuch”, Volume 12 from 1928, on page 113, we can read that Vojvoda Anto Dakovic (Анто Даковић) was from the Kuci tribe in Albania. We can also read that Grahovo was once inhabited by the Albanian Mataruge tribe.

Cited:

Translation:

“The memoirs of Voivode Anto Daković of Grahovo, which found their way to the Balkan Institute in Sarajevo during the World War, contain the account that the family’s progenitor fled from Kuči in Albania to Montenegro. This occurred around the end of the 16th or beginning of the 17th century. The fifth descendant of the progenitor found Grahovo deserted; no Mataruga remained.”
