They throwed them into a lime pit and boiled them, where their screams were heard beyond the mountains, around the villages 7-8 kilometers away. The living witnesses of the macabrare Serbian massacre of Iseukaj in the autumn of 1944, where 98 corpses were victims of this Serbian genocide, talking today with tears in their eyes and full of sadness. This was a true Serbian encounter that the villagers of Karadak, Prešević in eastern Kosovo experienced.”
In the Preshevian Karadak, the 67th anniversary of the genocide is commemorated and 98 Albanians, men, women and children, are massacred in the village of Iséukaj, reports the national news agency “Our Preshevian”.
The cruel Serbian massacre in Isëukaj was addressed to the attendees by Hasim Nuhiu, historian, Demush Berisha, education veteran, as well as representatives of the OVL, as well as patriots from the Karadak region of Presheva who were relatives of the victims or survivors of this macabre Serbian massacre 67 years ago in Isëukaj.
The attendees requested that the territory where the labyrinth of 98 massacred Albanians is located be transformed into a National Park, where our sons and daughters of our history can gather and commemorate each year, always calling out and telling about their intentions why they fell here.
In the village of Karadak Isëvukaj, a memorial gathering was held this week on the occasion of the genocide and Serbian massacre of 1944, where the Slavic gendarmerie had barbarically massacred nearly 100 Albanians, women, men and children.
In the presence of about 200 participants last week, villagers, intellectuals, historians, peers and family members gathered to commemorate this sad anniversary, among them also those who had escaped the massacre by the Serbs 67 years ago. The gathering in Isëvukaj, this year for three hours, will jointly unfold the painful history and suffering and crimes that the civilian population of these Albanian regions had endured at that time, reports the national information agency “Presheva Jonë”
The Serbs left the sofer (table for food) for many Albanian families. The Serbs took the Albanians away from their food in order to shoot them.
In the autumn of 1944, exactly 67 years ago today, the 16th Serbian-Macedonian Brigade committed the most macabre massacre in Eastern Kosovo, on the villagers of Karadak, Presevo, precisely in the village of Isëukaj (Isivuk). This was the eighth anniversary in a row that these victims are commemorated, among whom were many children, the elderly and women. Every year at this time, villagers and other compatriots from all over Karadak and the Presevo Valley gather there to pay homage to the monument erected in their honor, on the walls of which are inscribed the names of 98 victims, Albanian martyrs.
Those present, paying tribute to these victims, considered them heroes of the resistance and the nation who fell for freedom. They unanimously condemned this massacre, describing it as genocide and the largest Serbian massacre of the Albanian population in the territory of the Preševo Valley, inhabited ethnically by Albanians.
At this gathering in front of the mass, Hasim Nuhiu, historian, took the floor. Mr. Nuhiu, also from this village where his family was also a victim of this massacre, emphasized that we are gathered here out of respect for those who fell in the massacre of the legendary village of Isëukaj.
“These 98 Albanians whose names you see here are more like martyrs, they are the present and the perspective of our nation today and tomorrow”, concluded Professor Hasim Nuhiu.
Then a veteran, the representative of the OVL, took the floor and said that “it is a great shame for us today to appear like this in front of our martyrs who know why they fell heroically. I said, shame because they do not want us to be scattered like this, point five, in three or four countries. Our brothers there in half of Albania in Tirana speak differently and have their own problems, those in Kosovo and Macedonia also speak differently, for their own problems, while we here as the only territories in the Illyrian Peninsula still under Serbian administration, who does not cry for our problems, not even those to whom we gave the vote.
We have become point five, we are not few brothers, we are many, that is why our brothers have also cut us up, killed us, massacred us like these brothers of ours here in Isëukaj. These were killed, mistreated and raped in their own homes, in their own homeland, in the lands of their ancestors and ancestors..just because they spoke Albanian, just because they wore white plis.
We and the whole world know how the villagers were masqueraded by the Serbs, they sawed them off, dug holes in lime and boiled them alive, then they put hot, dancing geese in their mouths, in their throats until their souls came out alive..…the screams of children, women were heard far away from the mountains, two or three villages in Lezbali, Kurbali and Sefer up to Peca.
And strangely enough, today our leaders in the Valley allow us to eat meat and fight for the chair, but they have become us and do not speak and do not demand our rights and it is up to them to tell the truth, to demand their own, let alone dare not beg for their share, sometimes one and the other goes there in Belgrade and the Serbian ministers are gone.
That’s why today there is no leader here, where are they..but on official trips to Belgrade..in hotels and restaurants..But why are these Serbs the masters who are ruling not only their own land, but also foreign land, while in our own land they cannot rule it..isn’t it for us?! Shame, shame.
They have driven us from Nish and here, towards Vranje, that today and from Medveđa they have gathered us here in Preševo and Bujanovac and tomorrow the fate of these settlements is not even known.,,and they have all eaten our breakfast in our lands war after war, sometimes with politics and sometimes with deceit that you can open with raki and masks, genocide and ethnic cleansing are the signs, the evidence is here at the tombstone where they were mercilessly massacred about 100 shillings
The area where the lapidar of the massacre in Isşuka is located to become a national park.
Then, Mr. Demush Berisha, a prominent activist, teacher and veteran of education, addressed the crowd: In this country, historically, you know that in 1944, there were deaths, and among those whose names appear are people, fighters who were involved in the Albanian National Movement.
Among them were such fighters, true nationalists, freedom-loving women who also participated in the Kacanik war. Here is the emblem, the cream of Karadak’s nationalism, then not forgetting the heroism of Karadak in Sstubëll, that in Sefer… a large number of these vocal patriots had also made a strong arm of other national actions and activities with our brothers in Kosovo.
After Stubëll, come Bucit, Sefert, Isëukaj, Caravajka, Lezabia, Kurbalia, Magjerja, Depca… who have fought and by example fought and sacrificed their lives for this land, for these our ethnic lands. So, no matter how brave or patriotic we are, we have a national and human duty to remember and respect our martyrs who fell for our present day on these dates… to come out en masse to honor our sons and sons-in-law.
Meanwhile, an elderly villager from Karadak who had survived this massacre also addressed the attendees. According to him, “the screams of these victims could be heard from Isevukaj to Depce, Sefer and Ilinece.” They gave their lives, blindfolded and handcuffed, in front of Serbian criminals who, a little while ago, were beating drums and pouring brandy.
Therefore, these martyrs deserve to be honored more and I had asked our local authorities, those we have, especially the Albanian diaspora, to turn this place into a National Park so that every year we can gather and commemorate our sons and our entire history, calling for their goals, why they fell here… Serbia has no trust, it has no dialogue with them, it has only cared about oppression and all the battles, it has won and lost them with wars and masks, as it did in the last war with our brothers in Kosovo.
