Serb soldiers open fire with machine guns on Albanian civilians in 1912
“But we must condemn in the strongest possible terms the fact that this unification is being brought about through mass murder. We have witnessed the latest wartime atrocities in the Balkan conflict. Although casualty figures are being strictly suppressed, experts agree that 30% of the combatants have perished on the battlefield. (Stormy cries of “Shame!”)
Some of the wounded have miserably wasted away or died in excruciating agony during transport. Add to this the devastation of villages, the atrocities committed by the Serbs against the Albanians—who were lined up before machine guns and shot (Stormy cries of “Shame!”)—and the deadly scourge of cholera.”

“From the Balkan war zone, numerous reports of mutual massacres reached the pages of European newspapers. The Serbian atrocities, in particular, are of interest to Austrians: Reports continue to surface of horrific cruelties perpetrated by the Serbs against the Albanians. The accounts are hair-raising. Albania is said to be undergoing a virtual depopulation. Men, the elderly, women—in short, everything that even remotely resembles a human being—has been slaughtered by the Serbian hordes. We are now curious whether Europe, which so proudly boasts of its culture, will tolerate these atrocities with impunity”.

Serb soldiers murder any Albanian above the age of 8
“The [Serbian] order was given to murder all Albanians over the age of eight and to exterminate the entire nation. Serbs had attacked the sick, women, and children, and on one occasion in Kumanova, they killed 400 remaining Turkish soldiers with kicks and rifle butts. Entire villages were burned down, mosques smashed, and truly unbelievable atrocities committed. 500 Turks were killed”.
